Toileting

Whether you're preparing to begin your child's toileting journey or looking for fresh ideas after facing challenges, this program is designed to help you better understand your child's unique needs and feel confident supporting them towards successful toileting. 

Facilitated by a Splash Occupational Therapist, this program includes six interactive online group sessions and two individual coaching sessions to help tailor strategies to your child's strengths, needs and family routines. 

Together, we'll explore the many building blocks for toileting success, moving beyond toilet training, to understand the developmental skills that support successful toileting. We'll cover regulation, sensory processing, body awareness and interoception, communication, cognition, motor skills and environmental support; helping you understand why your child may be experiencing challenges and how to support them. 

Through practical education, reflection and planning, you'll leave each session with practical strategies and simple activities to trial at home, building your confidence to support your child's toileting journey in a way that is responsive, realistic and tailored to your family.

• How to set up supportive toileting environments 

• Teaching predictable toileting routines  

• Building body awareness and interoception 

• Common toileting challenges and troubleshoot strategies 

• Generalisation of skills across home, childcare, kinder and school
