Allied Health Assistant (AHA) Program
Practise with purpose. Grow with confidence.
Designed to help children make meaningful progress towards their therapy goals through regular, structured practice. Working alongside your child's therapist, our AHA's deliver fun, engaging, goal-focused sessions that provide the repetition and consistency children need to develop new skills and build confidence.
At Splash, we see AHA's as an extension of your child's therapy team, providing supplementary sessions that complement practitioner-led therapy. Each program is individually designed by a senior practitioner, who provides their clinical expertise in assessing, setting goals, designing the therapy program and regularly reviewing progress, while the AHA supports your child to build these skills through frequent, guided practice. Together, this team-based approach combines expert clinical planning with increased therapy intensity to help your child achieve meaningful outcomes.
Clinically led
A senior practitioner designs, oversees and reviews every program.
Consistent practice
A trained AHA delivers the repetition and routine children need to build skills.
Cost-effective
A reduced session rate makes it affordable to increase therapy frequency.
Why frequent practice works
Research shows that children learn best when they have frequent opportunities to practise meaningful tasks. By increasing the intensity and consistency of therapy, the AHA Program helps your child consolidate skills, improve independence, and confidently use their skills in everyday environments.
One-on-One
One-on-one sessions with a trained Allied Health Assistant.
Short intensive blocks
Frequent therapy sessions over five to six weeks to build confidence.
Is the AHA Program right for my child?
The AHA Program may be recommended for children who:
Would benefit from more frequent therapy sessions to build confidence and commit to a short intensive block (5 or 6 weeks).
Are working towards goals that require high levels of repetition and practice such as handwriting, reading, spelling, bike riding, shoe tying, ball skills, drawing, keyboarding or other everyday functional tasks.
Are able to participate in structured, goal-focused activities with support and encouragement.
Are motivated by hands-on activities and respond well to consistent routines.
Your child's treating practitioner can support you in determining whether the AHA Program is the right fit based on their goals, learning style and the level of support required.
