Soundscape Group

Soundscape is a strengths-based, music-centred adolescent group program that has been designed to offer adolescents a safe, creative, and therapeutic space to be themselves and partake in a music-making process over the span of 6 sessions.

As supported by one of Splash’s speech pathologists and music therapist, our group members will have the opportunity to form new relationships, identify and express emotions, initiate and engage in conversations, and collaborate in a shared, meaningful, and motivating activity.

Throughout these 6 sessions, participants will learn and partake in the processes of songwriting, song-making, and instrumental playing. As supported by research, group adolescent songwriting provides many benefits that enhance overall health and wellbeing, and quality of life! Our group members will be able to experience:

  • Enhanced social connection and positive social experiences

  • Enhanced self-confidence and self-esteem

  • Agency and a sense of achievement

  • Mental health and counselling support

  • Teamwork and collaboration
